Timber-frame Additon
This project saw us installing a fir addition onto an existing cabin allowing for use of the deck even during the hottest days of summer. The underside features TnG soffit between large fir timber rafters that evokes classic western style. The posts were tied into the existing deck rail to make the whole project seamless with the deck.
To ensure that the home took none of the weight from the new roof, new piles were installed to take the load and all joints were reinforced with structural screws.

Ground Level Deck Replacement
The client on this project requested that the deck be lower than the existing builder constructed deck and that a wrap around step be added for overall better access. This meant lowering the Hardie cement board siding to cover the space left from removing the old deck as well as re-grading under the structure where the builder left a large mound of back fill. To accommodate the change in height from the door to the new height of the deck a 3 step landing was constructed. If you want to revitalize your backyard click here for a free estimate!
Column Replacement
A smaller project we completed but satisfying nonetheless. The homes existing front column was rotted to the supporting post. The entire post was replaced and covered in weather barrier before being clad in LP Smartside trim. Everything was filled, sealed and painted with acrylic latex. Basement Development
What started as a subterranean hockey arena turned into a whole new living space. The previous owners of this home relegated the basement to storage and use as a practice area for hockey. The clients purchased the home and requested that the space be developed with a bathroom and wet bar/kitchenette. Because of the layout of the bathroom the concrete had to be broken up and toilet, sink and shower drains moved. A kitchenette was also designed with custom wine rack and storage above the fridge. Home Addition
A client wanted to add on a mudroom and bedroom onto an existing home from the 1940s. For this project our scope was the framing and metal roofing.
The entire structure was built on screw piles to ensure an unmoving foundation. Several elements from the original home were re-purposed. A window was pulled from the original home and re-used on the addition, the decking from the original deck was also re-used to build a 20x16 deck.
The interior featured a vaulted celling that required some last minute discussion with the architect and truss manufacture to make sure that rake wall was built correctly. Want to expand your living space? Click here!
